The single most common reason people bounce off the carnivore diet in the first week is not health, it is logistics. They stand in front of the fridge on day three with no plan, no shopping done, and no idea what dinner is, and they order a pizza. So here is a full week, mapped out, built almost entirely on ground beef so it stays cheap and simple. Follow it for seven days and you will prove to yourself that you are not going to starve on meat.
Then the honest part: doing this properly for months, not one week, is where a real plan earns its keep. This free week gets you started. The Carnivore Diet Plan is the version that keeps going, with the shopping, the portions and the variety worked out so you never hit that day-three fridge again.
What a week of carnivore actually looks like
Meat, eggs, butter and salt. That is the whole shape of it. The plan below leans on ground beef (mince, if you are British) because it is the cheapest protein in the shop and the most versatile, then rotates the format so you are not eating the same thing twice in a row. The trick that makes a week like this effortless is batch cooking: the big dinners (the casserole, the chilli, the brisket) are deliberately oversized so that one evening of cooking becomes two or three lunches. You will notice most days here have a “leftovers” lunch. That is not laziness, it is the entire strategy.
The ground-beef-led shopping list (and what it costs)
Here is roughly what a week looks like in the trolley, for one person eating well:
- 4 to 5 packs of 20% ground beef (mince)
- A pack of diced chuck or braising steak (for the chilli and the brisket day)
- Two to three dozen eggs
- A block of butter and some tallow or beef dripping
- Cheddar and a bit of mozzarella
- A pack of streaky bacon
- Two steaks for the days you want something quick and good
- Salt. Proper salt, and more than you think.
In the UK that comes in at well under £50 for the week, which works out around £6 to £7 a day to eat almost entirely on beef and eggs. Ground beef is what makes that maths work. Chicken and steak every day would double it.
The 7-day carnivore meal plan
Batch-cook the bold dinners and the leftovers lunches take care of themselves. Every linked dish has a full recipe.
| Day | Breakfast | Lunch | Dinner |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monday | Steak and eggs in butter | Cheeseburger casserole (make double) | A proper ribeye |
| Tuesday | Ground beef and eggs, scrambled in the fat | Casserole leftovers | Carnivore chilli (make a big pot) |
| Wednesday | Bacon and eggs | Chilli leftovers | Carnivore meatballs |
| Thursday | Cheese omelette | Meatballs leftovers | Carnivore meatloaf (make double) |
| Friday | Meatloaf, sliced cold, and eggs | Chilli or casserole from the freezer | Carnivore meatza |
| Saturday | Steak and eggs | Meatloaf leftovers | Carnivore shepherd’s pie |
| Sunday | Bacon and eggs | Shepherd’s pie leftovers | Slow brisket, with enough for Monday |
Snacking, or not
On a week like this you probably will not want to snack, because fatty beef and eggs keep you full for hours in a way that toast never did. If you genuinely need something between meals, the answer is more of the same: a boiled egg, a cold meatball, a slice of the meatloaf, a lump of cheese. If you are reaching for snacks constantly, eat more fat at your meals and the urge disappears.
What to do when you get bored on day four
Around day four the novelty wears off and the same beef starts to feel like a chore. This is the exact point most people quit, and it is a format problem, not a food problem. The fix is built into the plan above: the same pack of mince is a casserole, then a chilli, then meatballs, then a meatloaf, then a meatza. Change the shape and your brain stops filing it under punishment. If you want more options, the whole carnivore ground beef recipes collection is there to rotate through.
Does a carnivore meal plan have any Fiber?
No, and a week of it will show you first-hand that you do not need it. If that idea worries you, it is covered properly in why you don’t need vegetables to be healthy. A week of beef, eggs and butter is a stack of complete protein and fat-soluble vitamins, which is rather more than a bowl of cereal ever gave you.

What this free plan leaves out
This week is deliberately simple, which is its strength for a beginner and its limit after that. It does not adjust the portions to your bodyweight or your training, it does not tell you how to handle eating out or a bad week, and it repeats a small set of dishes rather than giving you a proper rotation. That is on purpose. It is a free starting point, not the finished system.
The Carnivore Diet Plan is the finished system: portions worked to you, a full rotation of meals so it never gets boring, and the shopping done for you, for the price of about two takeaways. If this free week convinced you the diet is doable, that is the thing that keeps it doable.
